Liquidity

Liquidity:

Noun

S: (n) liquid, liquidness, liquidity, liquid state (the state in which a substance exhibits a characteristic readiness to flow with little or no tendency to disperse and relatively high incompressibility)
S: (n) fluidity, fluidness, liquidity, liquidness, runniness (the property of flowing easily) "adding lead makes the alloy easier to cast because the melting point is reduced and the fluidity is increased"; "they believe that fluidity increases as the water gets warmer"
S: (n) liquidity (being in cash or easily convertible to cash; debt paying ability)

Well, at least the 3 listed above are part of the official definition of the word, but I saw this yesterday in a continuing education seminar and thought that this was a better one! ;-)

Facebook Virus Warning!

I occasionally use Facebook, but was surprised to hear about this virus called "Koobface." Evidently it has been out there for awhile, but I haven't seen anything sent by Facebook that mentions it.

Awhile back Mrs. B received a number of very, well, let's just say that they were not really appropriate, coming from a certain mutual, male friend. You get the idea. Anyway, his computer was infected by a virus and he hurriedly sent out an email apologizing for the spam. What infected his computer could very well have been this virus.

There is a link in the NY Times article to Facebook's security page (never even knew they had one until now), but here it is in case you didn't read the article: http://www.facebook.com/security

New Coach for the Canes!

Well, this comes as no surprise, the Canes have fired their coach as a result of their dismal play of late. The only surprise for me is that they waited this long to get rid of him. And look who they are bringing back, Paul Maurice, the person who was the coach when the Canes went to the Stanley Cup final in 2002!

Now that is a shock. I was half expecting Ron Francis to be named as an interim coach since he was already on the management team. Maybe they are going to use Maurice to provide a mentor to Ron for the remainder of this year and make him the coach at the start of next year.

Can't figure out any other reason why they are bringing Maurice back, can you?

One Clinton Replacing Another in the Senate?

Well, I learned something new today.  I was reading an article on CNN and saw a caption on the sidebar that Bill Clinton was mentioned as a possible candidate to replace his wife in the Senate. Very interesting and learned something new to boot.

If Bill is selected to take his wife's seat in congress he would be the third president in the history of our country to do so.   John Quincy Adams was the first ex-president to serve in the House of Representives.  Andrew Johnson was elected to the Senate 7 years after being acquitted of all impeachment charges.

I don't remember this ever being mentioned in school when I took american history - does anyone else remember this?
